Course Objective

General health insurance, which emerged as a new form of insurance in our changing social security system and concerns not only employees but also all citizens of the country, will be examined in detail. The changes brought about by the legal legislation and the premium-performance relationship will be systematically revealed. The effects of general health insurance on social policy, the changes it brings, and the benefits and consequences of the implementation of the system in our country will be discussed in detail. Thus, both the socio-political and legal aspects of general health insurance, which concern all individuals, will be examined.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Social security and social insurance concepts will be learned.
2   The reasons and consequences of the evaluation of general health insurance as a separate insurance branch will be learned.
3   The relationship between general health insurance and other insurance branches will be examined.
4   The conditions for benefiting from general health insurance and the achievements will be examined.
5   The changes made by the general health insurance in the Turkish social security system will be learned.
6   The capacity to reconcile theoretical knowledge with the application areas of social insurance will increase.
