Course Objective

To teach economic changes from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic and their reflections on working life in Türkiye. To ensure understanding of the socio-economic gains realized in the Republic of Türkiye.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To learn the reflections of the industrialization process on working life in Türkiye.
2   To obtain information about working life and workers' activities in the Ottoman Empire.
3   To learn the process of economic policies and regulation of working life after the declaration of the Republic.
4   To be able to evaluate the factors affecting unions and union-politics relations in Türkiye.
5   To be able to evaluate the impact of legal regulations in Türkiye.

LO 1-2: It will be evaluated with the questions to be asked in the midterm exam.
LO 3-5 will be evaluated with the questions to be asked in the final.

6. Students are expected to behave in accordance with their student identity in classes.
