Course Objective

The main purpose of this course is to examine Ottoman texts, introduce history books written in Ottoman, and discuss these texts.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Translate the written texts into modern Turkish
2   Read and comprehend the texts written in Ottoman
3   Have better understanding of Ottoman chronicles from the period of foundation
4   Have better understanding of the processes of the foundation of the state on the basis of Ottoman texts
5   Scientifically evaluate the written texts
