Course Objective

This course aims to introduce students to different dimensions of politics of international migration. First, the course will provide a conceptual and theoretical understanding of the field in its historical context. Following the discussion of international migration actors and policies at various levels, the course will focus on various features of international migration policy which are under debate, such as the securitization of immigration and immigrant incorporation.

3   Be able to analyze actors and policies on the global migration agenda (PO-7)

1. Students are expected to come to class well-prepared by reading all the articles and book chapters assigned for the week.
2. If for any reason the student cannot attend the class, he/she will inform the instructor prior to class
3. Participation in class is necessary.
4. Attending at least 70% of lectures is mandatory.
5. Plagiarism of any type will result in disciplinary action.
