Course Objective |
The sociological concepts of society and religion (Marx: "Religion as the Heart of a Heartless World", Durkheim: "Religion as Social Adhesive", Weber: Religion as Meaningful Social Action and Motivation" etc.), analyzing the relationship between religion and society, understanding the basic character of religion-state relations in Türkiye and the West, learning different models of religion and state relations applied in the world. Analyzing the historical process of religion-state relations in the Republican period. |

Whether the student has knowledge about the topics covered in the course, the ability to evaluate and discuss on the topics will be evaluated by midterm and final exams. Students' ability to follow, analyze and discuss current developments will be measured by the homework they prepare. |
