Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to achieve a necessary understanding of the globalization after 1980s, globalization, modernization, nation state and Türkiye, free market economy and Türkiye, globalization and economy, social and cultural problems, the developments in the European Union, and the relationships between Türkiye and the European Union.

4 Globalization and the new global system: Localization and entegration
5 The development of the idea of union in Europe
6 The expansion of the European Union: The Maastrict Treaty
7 The Amsterdam Treaty, the treaty of Amsterdam, the treaty of Nice, the European Union Constitution
8 The Turkish membership in the European Union as a part of Ataturk s external political objection
9 The application of Türkiye to the European Economic Union and the treaty of Ankara
10 The preparation of Türkiye for the European Union and discussions
11 Türkiye-European Union Association Council Decisions: Custom Union
12 The application of Türkiye for full membership to the European Union: The Luxemburg, Helsinki, Copenhagen, and Brussels Summits
