Course Objective

This course aims that the student shall know cancer presence mechanism, etiology, frequency in Türkiye and in the world, protection and early diagnosis methods, treatment methods, physical symptoms seen as a reaction to treatment, the problem that cancer patient and patient s family experience and shall plan nursing interventions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows historical development, role, responsibilities standard and working areas of oncology nursing
2   Explains cancer biology and affecting factors
3   Explains cancer protection and early diagnosis methods
4   Explains methods used in cancer treatment
5   Explains physiopathology of symptoms that can be seen in cancer patient
6   Nursing care for symptoms seen in cancer patient by using evidence-based knowledge

5 Treatment Methods-1 ( Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, Surgıcal treatment, Biotherapies, Bone marrow and root cell transplantation)
6 Treatment Methods-2 ( Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, Surgical teatmants, Biotherapies, Bone marrow and root cell transplantation) Radio therapy Immunotherapy
7 Symptom control in cancer patients Fatique in cancer patients and nursing care

9 Pain and nursing care in cancer patient
