Course Objective

This course aims to train specialist nurses that have the characteristics of universal scientist and enough skill and competence for public health nursing concepts and applications, the principles of health protection and promotion according to life periods, politics in national and international level, the assessment of the elements forming the society and the development of nursing approach to determined problems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describes risk groups in community and can practice nursing intervention by planning with necessities of them.
2   Can discuss presentation of home care services with critical approach.
3   Can explain the factors effecting society mental health, the effects of these discomforts on society and nursing approaches in these discomforts
4   Knows the importance of school health, can identify the risks and apply necessary interventions
5   Knows the importance of occupational health, can identify the risks in working area and apply necessary interventions
6   Can use electronic record systems
7   Can apply nursing care according to cultural features
8   Can think critically on situations affect individual, family and community health, can apply nursing intervention with planning

Through exams, the skills of being able to interpret, remember, decide, explain and combine the knowledge are assessed.
