Course Objective

In this course, it is aimed to bring deep knowledge and skills regarding the basic concepts and subjects of internal medicine nursing.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Develop the knowledge of basic concepts related with acute and chronic diseases at an advance level.
2   Discuss the expert-level knowledge and skills obtained in the field of internal medicine nursing with a critical approach.
3   Solve health problems of the individual with chronic disease by integrating the expert-level knowledge into the knowledge of different disciplines.
4   Present the up-to-date developments in the field of internal medicine nursing and her/his own studies to groups inside and outside of the field in a written, verbal and visual way.
5   Pursue the social, scientific, cultural and ethical values and become aware of health problems of the society.
6   Discuss the politics and applications regarding the management of acute and chronic diseases in Türkiye and the world.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Presentation skill of the student, her/his preparation to the subject and participation in discussions will be assessed as the midterm exam.
Her/his presentation of the case study as a report, which is based on evidence/resource on a certain subject, will be assessed as homework.
The skills of interpretation, decision making, explanation and knowledge combination will be assessed in the final exam.

Assessment Criteria

Student s explanation and interpretation about internal medicine nursing; planning, implementation and evaluation skills the care of the patients with acute or chronic illness are assessed.
