Course Objective

To learn the basic concepts of blood physiology explain the changes of these concepts in diseases

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to comprehend the production, life time and destruction of erythrocytes
2   To understand the synthesis and types of hemoglobin
3   To understand iron metabolism
4   To be able to define leukocytes formation, general characteristics, types, tasks and life times
5   To be able to define the mechanisms of inflammation, immune and allergy
6   Recognition, determination and interpretation of blood groups
7   To be able to understand the mechanisms of primary and secondary hemostasis to prevent blood loss
