Course Objective

To comprehend basic aspects of music analysis as well as advanced formal analysis techniques through theoretical knowledge and practical exercises.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Demonstrate main concepts of music forms.
2   Explain music forms according to their principal aspects.
3   Recognize formal designs used in Baroque, Classic and Romantic periods.
4   Analyse the place and importance of the smallest formal unit within the whole design.
5   Assess similarities and dissimilarities of various music forms.
