Course Objective

To identify the main logistics functions in shipping businesses.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to appraise logistics and supply chain development within an international context
2   to assess the role and contribution of maritime transport within international trade and logistics functions
3   to explain operational and strategic behaviours of shipping companies and port operators in responding to global logistics and supply chain development,
4   to explain shipping agency and brokering functions within logistics concepts,
5   to analyse the maritime business environment by considering logistics components.
