Course Objective

To teach and gain ability to apprehend and comment the students within the context of methodology of History discipline by taking basic history sources into the center;
- on the relations of Turks and Muslims, and the process of becoming Muslim for Turks;
- history, cultures, and civilizations of Islamic Turkish states appeared within the Islamic Turkish history;
- the affects and contributions of Turks to the Islamic Turkish culture and civilization;
- the roles of Turks, the positions they gained, and their importance within the history of World, Muslims and Turks;
- and by doing so, to create sensitivity and motivation for students those who finish the program to gain ability to create ideas, comments, and suggestions for the understanding and resolution of political, religious, social, academic, and cultural problems faced by Turkish nation and Islamic Turkish world.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   have knowledge about the historical past and progress of Turkish-Arab relations.
2   learns when and how the Turks met Islam for the first time and converted to Islam.
3   gain information about the individuals from Muslim Turks who served in Abbasid bureaucracy and state levels and their roles in the history of Abbasids in particular and Islam in general.
4   know the first Muslim Turkish dynasties within the context of date and place of emergence.
5   be able to evaluate, analyze and draw a conclusion to some of modern problems by having knowledge on political, administrative, military, social, economic, and cultural structures of Muslim Turkish states and the importance and positions of these states within the Turkish history, Islamic history and general world history.
