Course Objective

To analyze and compare the myths in Greek, Middle East, Far East and other traditions and to compare these with the themes in institutional religions

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   the student learn the concepts of myth and mythology and history of this realm
2   perceive major features of myths and their meanings and functions
3   know major themes of the myths
4   can compare myths of various traditions in terms of content and function
5   can distinguish and interpret the mythological elements in different institutional religions
6   can carry out the idea on the concept of Islamic mythology and the mythical elements in Islam
