Course Objective

The course entails translations from German into Turkish and vice versa in the selected fields of specialization (economy, tourism, legal, technical) and it aims to improve competence in specialized translation, teach the features of the specialized texts as a text type and make the students gain the skills to use supportive materials and tools in translation practice.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   be able to identify the differences between specialized texts and other text types.
2   explain the difficulties of the translation of specialized texts.
3   be able to use necessary theoretical and basic knowledge for specialized text analysis in the other texts of different fields.
4   translate the texts of different fields with appropriate strategies.
5   use the basic concepts of the field of specialization.
