Course Objective

This module is designed to enable and inspire students to conduct quantitative and qualitative research, to understand how to work with computer based data analysis program, how to prepare research proposal and get approval from ethics committee. It also aims to provide necessary skills for students to conduct and choose mixed research methods for different research subjects.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Explain how research methods are applied and data is analysed in leading research projects,
To ask student to complete a task of analysing rough data or material, and show them how it was analysed in the real project.
To enable the student to prepare interview guide and interview questions
To enable the student to see potential misleading impact of asking closed and open ended questions in interview.
Explain the students how to prepare participant information sheet and informed consent from in highly sensitive research subject and research environment which has limited access.
