Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the complex relationship between international criminal law and international refugee law. By examining the basic principles, legal frameworks and case studies where these two fields intersect, students will gain an understanding of how international criminal law affects international refugee law.

1   To be able to understand the sources of international criminal law, its historical development and the principles that dominate this discipline
2   Understanding the basic concepts and principles of refugee law
3   Having knowledge about the reasons for exclusion from refugee status
4   To have knowledge about international documents on refugees.
5   To be able to analyze the relationship between International Criminal Law and Refugee Law

8 The reasons for persecution; religion, nationality, race, political thought, particular social group.
9 Well-founded fear of being persecuted
10 Reasons for exclusion from refugee status
11 The relationship between grounds of exclusion and International Criminal Law
12 Asylum procedure
13 Review of court decisions
14 General Evaluation
