Course Objective

The objective is to comprehend the principles in labour law related to the concepts of working time and vacation and their forms of implementation by analyzing provisions of the relevant legislation in detail.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to specify the fundamental concepts and features concerning working hours, paid vacation, paid annual leave
2   To be able to comment on provisions of the legislation related to the organization of work
3   To be able to practice in present cases containing the organization of work
4   To be able to discuss regulations on the organization of work in consideration of doctrine's critics
5   To be able to come to a conclusion about the deficiencies arising from the legislation on the organization of work in labour law

6 Concepts of working time, actual-supposed working time in the Turkish Labour Law
7 Daily and weekly working time in the Turkish Labour Law
8 Midterm exam
9 Working based on balancing
10 Night work, compensatory work and short-time working
11 Overtime work and extra hours work
12 Rest breaks in the Turkish Labour Law
13 Weekly rest day in the Turkish Labour Law
14 Periods of annual leave with pay in the Turkish Labour Law
