Course Objective

It is aimed to show the most effective international control systems in the field of Human Rights, European Convention of Human Rights mechanism, and to indicate weaknesses of national law by examining the decision of European Court of Human Rights about Türkiye.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To analyse general framework of European Convention of Human Rights.
2   To explain the duty field of European Court of Human Rights.
3   To determine the rights and freedoms protected by European Convention of Human Rights.
4   To make comment on judgments of European Court of Human Rights related to rights and freedoms protected by European Convention of Human Rights.
5   To identify the steps for the execution of judgments of European Court of Human Rights in Turkish law.

4 The scope of jurisdiction of court, principles and conditions
5 European Convention of Human Rights: Related judgments of European Court of Human Rights against Türkiye
6 European Convention of Human Rights-prohibition of torture

9 European Convention of Human Rights-Fair trial rights

Assessment Criteria

To analyse the European Court of Human Rights system is learned on theoretical and concrete examples. To control whether theoretical information is learned or not by presentations and homework within the framework judgments of the European Court of Human Rights.
