Course Objective

Course Objective:
By this course it is aimed to teach the students and researches who will make experimental animal study, the biology of the laboratory animals, manipulation techniques and use this information on the studies that they plan.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. To be able to understand the biology of experimental animal
2   2. To be able to assimilate basic manipulation techniques
3   3. To be able to understand experimental animal selection
4   4. To be able to assimilate analgesia and anesthesia in experimental animals
5   5. To be able to understand scarification techniques in experimental animals
6   6. To be able to understand pain control and postoperative care in animal studies
7   7. To be able to apply the newly gained information in managing experimental animal studies

Prerequisite: This course is a practice-oriented course. Applications start with animal handling techniques and this is the basis of all applications. For this reason, the student who will choose the course should not be afraid or disgusted by mice, rats and rabbits.
