Course Objective

Being able to surpass the undergraduate typography knowledge. The core of this course is to make students think and develop original ideas and be able to give direction to its applications. Whether combination of type and visual or type as an individual used for visualization, students be able to delve to the smallest part of the idea to realize main meaning of the visual and then be able to combine the parts. The choice of the materials and medium has to be interdisciplinary, appropriate for the solution and has to be astonishing.

1   Will be able to have judgmental point of view and upon the gained knowledge.
2   Will be able to make use of new media elements.
3   Will be able to produce extraordinary ways of expression
4   Will be able to look from a different perspective/ eye assign new meanings and science to images and typography

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Meeting Stage. Brief information about the course. Examination of typographic design from past to today. Instructions about how to choose and research topics. Explanations about how to apply researches into practice and continuity of design process.
2 Giving directions to the students one by one about how to build project concept. Defining the research paper topics and discussion with the students to assign their choices.
3 Suggestions for project draft. Critique of research paper.
4 Sketches on the project and critique of research paper.
5 Sketches on the project and critique of research paper.
6 Sketches on the project and critique of research paper.
7 Submission of the research paper
8 Seminar
9 Developing sketches into comps
10 Working on project mockup. Election of right media and material.
11 Making alternatives for design mockup.
12 Eliminations of the final design work.
13 Making critics on designs final stage.
14 Finalizing works into finished artwork. Critique of project.
