Course Objective |
Radiation safety is an important issue in a variety of work locations such as regulators, universities, hospitals, research institutions, veterinary practices, radiation instrument detection manufacturers, irradiator facilities, first responders and defence. The instructional goals of this course are as follows: to provide a basic knowledge of radiation concepts and instruments available, to provide the participant with information concerning the effects and limits of radiation exposure and a basic knowledge of the work environment, methods of protection and equipment, and procedures for decontamination. In addition, to give information on requirements of a radiation protection program. |
