Course Objective

To provide knowledge about hybrid power generation and its applications; to learn the benefits of variable speed electric power generation; to decrease carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency by studying on waste heat recovery applications; to gain knowledge about systems that provide fuel efficiency on marine diesel engines e.g. Delta Tuning and Common Rail injection system; to study advanced power management systems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to understand the operation of hybrid power generation systems ,
2   To be able to make R&D projects for variable speed electric power systems,
3   To be able to use the systems that provide fuel efficiency on marine diesel engines,
4   To be able to design waste heat recovery systems,
5   To be able to implement advance power management systems to ships.
