Course Objective

This course aims to be taught the design of the geometry of the hole for blasting in mining,
rock breaking mechanism and energy transfer at explosive materials and explosive materials and for the subjects of the blasting technique.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Gaining of the ability for able to make blasting design
2   Recognizing of the explosive materials and selection of them
3   Recognizing of the ignition components and be able to make suitable selection of the them
4   Gaining of the ability to control particle-size distribution
5   Gaining of the ability to analyze blasting problems and developing the solution for regards problems

1 Energy and oxygen balance in explosive materials
2 Energy and oxygen balance in explosive materrials
3 Waste of energy and the formation of the seismic waves
4 Breaking mechanism and breakage theories
5 Commercial explosive materials, properties and application areas of them
6 Detonators, and delay elements, types and application areas of them
7 Bait, types and selection of them
8 Blasting hole design (burden, hole diameter, space between holes)
9 Blasting hole design (base drilling, hole slope and direction of the hole)
10 The effect of blasting surface control and delay ranges according to particle-size distribution
11 To be determined the order of the firing and application examples
12 Blasting pattern design
13 The blasting techniques of underground mining and design of them
14 The regulations of explosive materials
