Course Objective

Relation with designer, material producer and consumer in the demand and supply balance is identified while contemporary building materials production sector is taken into consideration. Problems and opportunities on design and the usage of contemporary building materials are determined and the subjects within the contexts of contemporary building materials, components, and auxiliary building elements are taken into consideration. This course aims research of new building materials and their applications.

1 Giving information about the course and research papers. Information about the aims, methods and references of the course. Information about research assignments. Study for individual research assignment.
2 Definitions related to the subject are establishment with the relationship between structure and behavior of materials. Giving information about the research methods of homework assignments which include building material and its application. Determination of individual research topics. 3 Contemporary building materials, necessities and reasons of their technological advancements in construction business are requirements for this subject. Course Policies and Rules

This is a course relying on individual research and group discussion of them in the classroom. Each student chooses a topic and works separately but all members of the class take part in the weekly discussion sessions. Each student prepares and submits his works in form of a research booklet.
