Course Objective

The aim of this course is to recall the existing knowledge on the basic components of the building as a tangible architectural product, to produce more advanced conceptual-analytical discussions on this knowledge; to develop the skills of research, analysis and spatial readings.

1   To be able to list and define the basic components of architectural space (`space', `user', `space organization' etc. concepts)
2   To be able to explain the basic theories related to these concepts
3   Analyze one or more architectural paradigms
4   Analyzing and criticizing the defined question/architectural paradigm(s)
5   To be able to present the criticism, evaluation and conclusions developed on the defined problem/architectural paradigm(s) in a research report format

The homework and students presentations will be evaluated through the comprehensibility, quality of proposal and quality of presentation and submissions. Participation in class, attendance and contribution to the work will also be taken into consideration.
