Course Objective

The aim of this course is to give structures, synthesi and typical reactions of carbohydrates.

2 Properties of carbohydrates
3 Reactions at the anomeric center
4 Alcohols, and sulfur nucleophiles, reactions with nitrogen nucleophiles
5 Oxidation and reduction reactions
6 Non-anomeric carbon atom reactions
7 Synthesis and reactions of deoxy and amino sugars
8 Reactions of the hydroxyl group
9 Natural compounds that contain monosaccharides
