Course Objective

To determine the biostratigraphic zones, types of the biozones and their correlations
and also to present the biostratigraphic methods.

2 2 Biostratigraphic units, determination of biozone, types of biozones
3 3 Interval zone and its determination, taxon range zone, concurrent zone, interval zone, intervals without fossils
4 4 Assemblage zone and its determination, senozone, Oppel zone, abundance zone, ecozones
5 5 The parameters affecting the first and last occurrences of the fossils in determning the biozones
6 6 Order of the biostratigraphic zones, formal biostratigraphic codes, revisions of biostratigraphic zones
7 7 Biostratigraphic zonation, evolution, taxonomic classification, mass-extinctions
8 8 Biostratigraphic interpretations
9 9 Correlation of biozones
10 10 Biofacies maps and methods
11 11 Application of biozones
