Course Objective

Urban design practices are an important part of urban design education. this lesson students' urban design skills with various field-based approaches. aims to develop. Within the scope of this course, students' different subject areas and
will be able to work on projects.

1 First Week: Introduction and explaining the course content Explaining the first stage of the project, conveying the problematic to be discussed within the scope of the project and discussing its importance.
2 Second Week: Literature readings and determination of analysis stages before field research
3 Third Week: Field studies, analysis
4 Fourth week: Analysis studies, development of design concept, function diagrams
5 Fifth Week: Synthesis studies, development of design concept, function diagrams
6 Sixth Week: Completion of function diagrams
7 Seventh Week: MID-JURY
8 Eighth Week: Sketches and critiques
9 Ninth Week: Sketches and critiques
10 Tenth Week: Sketches and critiques
11 Eleventh Week: Reporting of design stages and results
12 Twelfth Week: Discussion of layout presentations
13 Thirteenth Week: Critiques
14 Fourteenth: Critiques
15 Fifteenth Week: FINAL JURY

Assessment Criteria

Students will do two different phased homework during the semester. The first stage will consist of analysis and synthesis stages and a concept diagram. Concept schemes produced in the second phase will be transformed into an urban design project. The first stage will be evaluated by the Mid-Jury and the second stage by the Final Jury.

Course Policies and Rules

Through urban design projects, objectives such as increasing the project experience of students in this field, producing spatial solution proposals with design language at different scales, and improving their ability to express were determined. It will be expected that the designs to be developed will be expressed through drawings and sketches.
