Course Objective

This course aims at defining planning and action, presenting action-oriented planning approaches, getting to comprehend action planning process, interpreting the Turkish planning system as a case of practice, analysing the relationships between strategic choice and action, proposing a normative framework for action-oriented planning and revising the actual one.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, students, will be able to define planning and action (Knowledge),
2   will be able to list different action-oriented planning approaches (Knowledge),
3   will be able to describe action planning process (Comprehension),
4   will be able to interprete the Turkish planning system (Application),
5   will be able to relate strategic choice to action (Analysis),
6   will be able to propose a new (normative) framework (Synthesis),
7   will be able to revise the actual planning system (Evaluation).

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This course will be given through lectures. Students will learn topics by attending and listening the lectures. Homeworks will be given to students in 7th Week and they will be asked to prepare their homeworks on the subjects given to them.
