Course Objective |
Composite materials, which have high performance in structural applications, are used very effectively. Therefore it is necessary to develop accurate reliable predictive methods for describing their failure behavior and to have analytical representation of the individual failure modes and to understand how the physical properties of the constituents affect the fracture behavior of composite systems. The aim of this course is firstly to get the structural behavior and failure characteristics of composite materials with a cracked layer and fiber. Secondly, to calculate energy level by considering the strain energy density criterion to analyze the fracture behavior of unidirectional fiber-reinforced compositesand to understand the catastropic failure due to fiber breaking, matrix cracking and interface debonding. Thirdly, to get the structural behavior and failure characteristics of sandwich materials. |
