Course Objective

The main objective of this course is to give mechanical and physical properties of iron and alloys which are commonly used as construction materials. Besides, relationship between these properties and micro-structural properties, and application fields are aimed to gain by students.

1   To give phase transformations of metals and alloys
2   To investigate mechanical properties and influencing parameters
3   To give determination and measuring methods of mechanical properties
4   To define properties of structural steel and fields of application
5   To give properties of aluminum based materials
