Course Objective |
This course examines methodologies for evaluating water resources engineering projects, which typically are large-scale, long-lived projects involving many economic, financial, social, and environmental factors. Basic techniques of engineering economics, including net present value analysis, benefit-cost analysis, and other approaches to project evaluation and management, optimization techniques and decision under uncertainty are among the topics covered. The interface between technical analysis and environmental affects will also be discussed, along with some regional and international case studies. |
