Course Objective |
As a new class of compounds, Ionic liquids have become an imported topic since 1990s. The number of studies published on this topic has grown almost exponentially. Due to their unique chemical characteristics, ionic liquids were designed as greener solvents to replace conventional volatile solvents that were believed to result in photochemical smog, ozone depletion, and global climate change. Ionic liquids are showing increasingly promising perspectives in the diverse fields of synthesis and industrial application. The aim of this course is to introduce students ionic liquids, their synthesis, properties and applications. |
