Course Objective

Aims to enable the students to effectively analyze resources from different fields as well as to acquire the basic language skills needed in academic and professional business life.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learns the simple, compound, complex word and sentence structures of English, time, mood, appearance, framework and their proper use for context.
2   Establish connections between sentences and acquire high level reading skills that can predict the main idea of the text.
3   It improves comprehension skills at a high level with original reading pieces selected from different fields.
4   Finding the main idea of the paragraph he reads and the texts he listens, distinguishes the basic and learns to make content analysis.
5   Makes high-level inferences about the topic's introduction, development and conclusion by using the clues in the content effectively.
6   Learns the rules of blading in a level that can start and maintain thoughts and conversations about subjects in daily, academic and professional business life.
7   Acquires a comprehensive blade infrastructure for exams at national and international level.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Basic concepts in English; verbs (transitive and intransitive verbs), verbs of states, noun phrase, prepositions, sentences and clauses, the elements of the sentence, pronouns (subject, object, possesive, indefinite, demonstrative and reflexive pronouns), gerunds, infinitives, quantifiers, noun clauses, adjective clauses.
2 Nouns, pronouns, articles, determiners and quantifiers, indefinite, definite article, quaniıfiers, quantifiers used with singular nouns, comparative and superlative with quantifiers, indefinite pronouns, reflexive pronouns, subject-verb agreement, collective nouns, nouns that are always plural, subject-verb agreement with some irregularities, pronoun agreement.

6 Prepesitions; prepositions with time expressions, at, on, in, prepositions of place and movement, preposition combinations (noun + preposition, preposition + noun, preposition + noun + preposition, adjective + preposition, verb + preposition, verb + object + preposition, verb + noun + preposition).
7 Tense overview; the simple present tense, the simple past tense, the past continuous tense, the present continuous tense, the present perfect tense, the present perfect continuous tense , the past perfect tense, the past perfect continuous tense, the future tense, the future continuous tense, the future perfect tense, the future perfect continuous tense.

11 Active and passive voices, tenses in passive voices, the passive forms of modals, using pasive voices in interrogatives, impersonal pronouns in passive voices, indirect object as passive voices, passive with gerunds infinitives,it is said that with passive voices, causative structure.

There will be held on two in class exams; midterm exam and final exam during the semester.
