Course Objective

This lesson is designed to focus on health communication as a multidisciplinary area. Generating the nottional background of health communication, learning highly used notions and models both for practice and analysis; evaluating methods and strategies during health communication campaigns; analyzing campaigns; improving critical thinking for both health promotions via media and health communication issues are core purpose of this course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defining health communication notion and its place in health organizations.
2   Examining background of health communication's improvement.
3   Explaning the health communication's institutionalization.
4   Explaning the health communication's campaign process.
5   Practical qualifying about patient psychology, communication between patient, physician and healthcare professionals.
6   Analyzing methods used during health communication campaign process.
7   Improving critical thinking about healt communication issues on media channels.
8   Analyzing ethical principles both written and online social media.
9   Explaning notions of health literacy, media advocacy and risk communication.
