Course Objective

In this course, the student identifies the biopsychosocial and economic problems of the patient and their family who require care during the palliative and end-of-life care process, and gains the necessary information in applying effective methods of coping with the care process and the mourning period.

1   LO1. Understands the concept and philosophy of palliative care.
2   LO2. Diagnoses the disease and its symptoms during palliative care and end-of-life processes.
3   LO3. It plans holistic care for the individual and their family, addressing their symptoms.
4   LO4. Plans care specific to the individual and their family during the death and mourning process.

In exams; interpretation, memory, decision making, explanation, classification and information integration skills will be evaluated.

Assessment Criteria

In determining the semester calculations in the evaluation of the course, 50% of the midterm grade and 50% of the final grade will be determined as the course success grade.

The midterm exam will be given as homework.

Final Success Grade: 50% midterm grade + 50% final grade = at least 60 out of 100 full grades.
Minimum Final Grade: Must be at least 50 out of 100 full marks
Make-up Success Grade: 50% mid-term grade + 50% final grade = at least 60 out of 100 full grades.
Minimum Semester End Passing Score: Must be at least 60 out of 100 full marks
