Course Objective

In this course, the student recognizes social factors that affect human health, such as race, gender, social class, culture, economy, and region. Examines the effects of structures and processes in health and social institutions on health problems from a sociological perspective.

2   LO2. Understands the relationship and organization of the concepts of health and disease.
3   LO3. Understands the interaction between health and culture, environment, politics, economy and social stratification.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

In determining the semester calculations in the evaluation of the course, 50% of the midterm grade and 50% of the final grade will be determined as the course success grade.

Midterm and final exams will be given as homework.

Final Success Grade: 50% midterm grade + 50% final grade = at least 60 out of 100 full grades.
Minimum Final Grade: Must be at least 50 out of 100 full marks
Make-up Success Grade: 50% mid-term grade + 50% final grade = at least 60 out of 100 full grades.
