Course Objective

The aim of this course is to create healthy development processes and nursing care of congenital or acquired diseases in newborns by students.

1   Knowing the characteristics of the newborn period
2   Knowing the newborn's care needs
3   To know the nutritional management of the newborn
4   Knowing the evidence regarding the newborn's nursing care needs
5   Knowledge of evidence-based practices in neonatal pain management.
6   Knowing family-centered care practices for the newborn family
7   Knowing the care needs of the high-risk newborn
8   Ability to plan the discharge of the newborn

In the evaluation of the semester, 50% of the midterm grade and 50% of the presentation which is assumed the final grade will be taken. Semester grade: 50% 1st exam grade + 50% presentation (final grade)

In exams; Interpretation, remembering, decision-making, explanation, classification, information gathering skills will be evaluated.
