Course Objective

This course aims to develop individual skills about regional and spatial structure problems within the context of different scales according to the scientific research process, making hypothesis, making theorical framework, making analyze, synthesize and making proposal about planning/design solutions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, the students are expected 1 will be able to define the economic, social, political, and ecological-based spatial problems (Knowledge),
2   2 will be able to tell information collects from different sources about the problem (Knowledge)
3   3 will be able to explain information establishing causal relationships (Comprehension),
4   4 will be able to interpret similar experiences at local, national and global scale about problem and if the differences (Application),
5   5 will be able to demonstrate differences in approach between the disciplines (Application),
6   6 will be able to criticize approaches for solving the problems of spatial (Analysis),
7   7 will be able to propose individually solutions about spatial problems as determined (Synthesis).

1 1-The problem definition about individual work; making a working program and its content.
2 2- Collection data about individual study work from relevant institutions and organizations; completion of field work.
3 3- Literature studies about problem; determination of theoretical / contextual approaches
4 4- Evaluating general theoretical / specific contextual inferences regarding problem solving.
5 5- Examining similar sample studies regarding problem solving and preparing a preliminary report; data processing about study area
6 6- Midterm Jury I
7 7- Analysis and synthesis of data about study area
8 8- Analysis and synthesis of data about study area
9 9- Report about analysis/synthesis of data about study area ; determination of spatial proposals about problem; critics about designing / planning

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

This course will be given through lectures which supported by visual presentations, readings, field survey, research about examples, preparation of individual research reports and maps, critiques of individual projects and preparation of project reports.

Description (Knowledge), Expression (Knowledge) and Explanation (Comprehension) are measured by the Intermediate Jury I-II. Interpretation (Application) and Demonstration (Application), Criticism (Analysis), Proposal (Synthesis) are measured by Final Jury.

The basis of the course will be the critics given over individual projects, reports and presentations and individual mastery of the legislation related to the investigation of case studies and planning is expected.
