Course Objective

The course is intended to introduce the concepts of region, development and regional planning. This course aimed to discussion of the basic regional development and planning approaches in Türkiye and worldwide which provide regional economic development and guide spatial development.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describe the concepts of region and development,
2   Recognise change/transformation process related to the regional development and planning approaches,
3   Compare regional development and planning approaches in Türkiye with different countries,
4   Associate chance in approach to region, regional planning and regional development with regional politics,
5   Evaluate approaches to regional planning and development being implemented in Türkiye.
