Course Coordinator

PROFESSOR DOCTOR MEHMET FARUK EBEOĞLUGIL

Offered to

Metallurgical and Materials Engineering

Course Objective

Objectives of this course are: To give information about the electrical behavior of materials, to define electron band structures for solid materials, to explain the mechanism of formation of undoped and doped semiconductors, to classify electronic circuit elements used in integrated circuits, to give information about the production methods and characterization of electronic materials. In the light of this information, it provides the ability to apply by designing an electronic device.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To define the electron band structure by classifying the materials according to their electrical properties.
2   To associate structural defects with electrical properties in semiconductor materials
3   To indicate the formation mechanism of electrical conductivity in n-type and p-type semiconductor materials
4   To explain electronic properties by classifying electronic materials according to structure-property relationship
5   To have information about the production and characterization of electronic materials
6   To be able to design and apply different electronic devices
7   To comprehend the working principles of electronic circuit elements used in integrated circuits theoretically and experimentally
8   To present and interpret the data obtained as a result of analysis and synthesis in a report
