Course Objective

Planning, designing and dimensioning of cavities, which are opened during preparation of underground production

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Able to use of topographic and geological maps at mining
2   Able to Compute direction and gradient of layer and veins
3   Able to make main and vein devolopments plans
4   Able to determine the requried dimensions of underground openings (gallery and prouction sites)
5   Able to show the developments in production plans

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Indication importance at mining,analysing and using of Topographical and geological maps
2 To obtain the direction and the slopes of the layer using existing maps and boreholes
3 To detect the characteristics of the tectonized areas and strike and dip-slip faults
4 To identify how the faults effect the vein, to estimate the vein which lost due to the fault
5 To identify the the cross-section, number of, depth and placement of the wells for the planning of the main preparations
6 To determine the route and the cross-sections of the main floor galleries that will be opened
7 Support system project and calculations
8 To design the project and to create the timing chart of the details of the galleries (gellery riding, ventilation, the fortification, transportation and the drainage)
9 To identify the location of the production and dimensions of the board to be produced for planning the preparations in the vein
10 To select the machinery, equipment and the system
11 To show the preparatory work at production plan
12 To check whether the preparatory work is done according to the program
13 Planning of the future work To plan the plug-ins that are required during the production
14 To plan the plug-ins that are required during the production
