Course Objective

The aim of this course to apply the ability and experiences which gained in the first three years in description the economic geology problems, design and modellisation

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To know the principles and methods of design
2   To be able to synthesis geological litterature and geological problems
3   to be able to use geological backround in geological problems
4   to be able to use geological backround in geological problems
5   to be able to design some models to analyze the economic geology problems
6   to be able to improve alternative solutions for the described geological problems
7   to be able to plan the solution of the problem by setting up a budget, equipment and related staff
8   to be able to present the results of a design project

1 Introduction, course objectives and scope, project-based learning,
2 Activities required to create a new project,
3 Design, stages of design, concept development,
4 Studies on creating a whole (project draft) suitable for the developed concept, studies on the detailed design of the units and parts of the whole, creation of a preliminary study,
5 Selecting the industrial raw material search and feasibility method for each of the parts in the detailed design,
6 Selecting computer programs that can be used in industrial raw material reserve area modeling,
7 What is Industrial Raw Material What are its types
8 Formation environments of Industrial raw material, analysis methods used, sampling and laboratory studies
9 Industrial Raw Material exploration stages: basic concepts and principles
10 Standards used in Industrial Raw Material Production
11 Formation and properties of minerals used in Industrial Raw Material Production.
12 Additives used in Industrial Raw Material Production
13 Finalization of Industrial Raw Material exploration and feasibility studies, approximate sizing, finalization of projects
14 Written and oral presentations of the project by the project teams.

The class is divided into study groups. A faculty member "supervises" each study group. The supervisor can also contribute as a tutor when appropriate. Group work is done interactively.
