Course Objective

Course aims to use the previous knowledge and abilities that were got during the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years, on the modelling of a basin.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Can budget basin analysis projects and make work schedules 2   Makes/obtains/examines geological maps of sedimentary basins and evaluates the geological features of the basin. 3   Makes/obtains and evaluates type sections and drilling data of units in the field. 4   Determines the general facies characteristics and facies distributions of the units in the area 5   Defines and evaluates sedimentary structures 6   Obtains and evaluates paleontological data 7   Examines and evaluates chemical analysis, geophysical and absolute age data 8   Correlates the data, prepares the basin model and reports it
