PROFESSOR DOCTOR TOLGA OYMAN

Offered to

Geological Engineering

Course Objective

Within the context of this course, fluid inclusions existing in transparent ore minerals, gangue minerals and rock-forming transparent minerals and their formation will be explained. These fluid inclusions will be classified in accorddence with their compositions and formations. Calculations of geothermic parameters or approximation properties (P,T, X) or will be done for the mineralization, metamorphic, magmatic and sedimentary environments. The use of fluid inclusions in exploring petroleum and ore-bodies will be elaborated.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1- Recall of formerly possessed knowledges related to subjects of this course
2   2- Ability to relate the operation principals of fluid inclusion stage to basic principals of physical and chemical sciences
3   3- Theory of measurements by fluid inclusion stage
4   4- Ability to analyze the results of measuremnts otained
5   5- Use of fluid inclusions in exploring economically significant ore-bodies
