Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide knowledge on geology, mineralogy, occurrences and genesis of natural zeolites. Also, this course aims to provide understanding uses and importance of zeolites in industry.

1   To be able to learn natural zeolites and their characteristic features
2   To be able to identify mineralogy of natural zeolites
3   To be able to define origin and occurrence of natural zeolites
4   To be able to comment chemical environment for zeolite occurrences
5   To be able to know the use and economic importance of zeolites

9 Adsorption, ion-exchange and molecular sieve properties of zeolites
10 Application of zeolites In water and wastewater treatment
11 Utilization of zeolites building, medicine, agriculture and cement industry
