Course Objective

Geophysical Well-Logging measurement methods; Its types, application techniques and equipment features are explained. The relationship between Borehole type and feature, structural and petrophysical parameters of geological formations are defined. For the solution of underground problems; Skills for choosing Well-Logging equipment, taking measurements, evaluating, interpreting and reporting the results are gained.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to gains general information about the history and purposes of Well-Logging.
2   To be able to obtains information about providing solutions to underground problems through Well-Logging geophysics studies.
3   To be able to gains experience in identifying geological and geophysical changes in the underground.
4   To be able to obtains information about the structural and petrophysical parameter properties of the formations through Well-Logging geophysical measurement methods.
5   To be able to gains experience in establishing a relationship between the application results of different Well-Logging geophysical methods.
6   To be able to gains the discipline and perspective of creating common results between Geophysics, Geology and Borehole techniques.

8 Natural Potential (SP) Log and its features
9 Electrically sourced Resistivity Logs and their properties
10 Microlog Types and Induction Log features
11 Radioactivity Logs and their features
12 Downhole Seismic Studies with Sonic Log and its features
13 Evaluation of Geophysical Well-Logging Data and use of Chart
14 Interpretation and Reporting of Well-Logging Data
