Course Objective |
In this course, learning of experiments performed at soil mechanics laboratory in order to determine index and engineering properties of soils is aimed. Test standards, procedures, evaluation techniques, geotechnical parameters obtained from tests, and significance of the geotechnical parameters in Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering are investigated in detail. Theoretical lessons are supported by solved problems about evaluation of the test results and calculation of the geotechnical parameters. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
Theoretical lessons accompanied by video camera presentations are supported by solved problems. Book chapters and video presentations about laboratory tests are given to students before the theoretical lesson. Technical terminology is given in English. |
