Course Objective

The aim of the course is to the present students response analysis of linear-elastic single-degree-of freedom systems, response spectra, elastic design response spectra, non-linear response analysis of single-degree-of-freedom systems, concept of ductility, response analysis of multi-degree-of-freedom systems, Rayleigh and Caughey damping.

7 7-Non-linear response spectra, relation of force and displacement
8 8-Effects of yielding on earthquake response.
9 9-Response analysis of multi-degree-of freedom systems.
10 10-Modal analysis.
11 11-Concepts of modal effective mass and height of buildings.
12 12-Rules of mode superposition method.
13 13-Rayleigh and Caughey dampings.
14 14-Structural dynamics in building codes .
